WE DON'T NEED ANOTHER QUARRY

ROYALLA QUARRY OPPOSITION

A new hard rock quarry is proposed affecting Royalla, Fernleigh, Googong and ACT residents.

Join the local community and fight to oppose the quarry.

This quarry WILL:

RELEASE SILICA DUST

The quarry will be blasting in to Rhyodacite, the most SILICA-rich magma that comes from volcanoes.

ENDANGERED HABITATS

Several critically endangered and declining flora and fauna species have been identified.

BLASTS REGULARLY

Regular blasts to release and loosen rock content can be expected.

HUNDREDS MORE TRUCKS

Based on the proposal documentation, hundreds of extra trucks will be utilizing narrow and quiet residential roads.

THE QUARRY PLAN

Monaro Mix (NSW) and Pacific Formwork Pty Limited (ACT) are proposing a joint venture to build a hard rock quarry in Royalla. This quarry will be located within two kilometres of homes, within five kilometres of schools and within an E2 Environmentally Protected area with already identified critically endangered species.
